    Difference-Glock with 2 or 3 pins in frame??

    I have seen 3rd generation G17s with 2 pins in the frame and others with 3 pins?? Is one better than the other???

    The 3rd pin is supposed to support the locking block better.
    Having said that, I have never even heard of problems where the 3rd pin was even necessary until you get into the 40 S&W.
    The 17 having that pin probably stems from the 22 needing it and Glock wanting to make one common frame for all fullsize models.

      If you saw a 3rd gen with 2 pins, the frame has been replaced by glock. It is not a true gen3.

        That is definitely not true. Thousands of 2-pin G17's were manufactured and imported in '02.

          My g17 only has 2 pins....My buddy's G17 has 3 pins...My frame was made in the US and his wasnt...Where Im going with this post I have no idea lol

              I have never seen any 2 pin 3rd gen Glocks that did not get their frame replaced.

              I have 2 2.5 gen's, both have 3 pin blocks. I have 6 3rd gens, all have 3 pin blocks.

              I would like to see a 3rd gen (non -US serial) with 2pin blocks.

                    Im still working up a load with zero 124 grain round nose...Then I need to tune the recoil spring (if needed). I also need to adjust my new sights a bit as Im shooting a little left....
