I've been using it for the past few months...just clean with ballistol, wipe away the excess and good to go. No additional oil needed. It leaves a light layer of oil, which I find to be more than enough lubrication for my needs.

I use this product for almost a year now. I don't need other gun oil. It's a great stuff in both cleaning and lubricating. The only thing I don't like is the smell.

Great stuff but couldn't get past the smell. That's mainly due to me living in a small apt so after cleaning smell would linger. My girlfriend would always comment the whole place would smell like old gym socks after I cleaned. I would continue to use it if I lived in a bigger place and had a designated cleaning area because I liked how it worked. I still prefer grease on the slide rails on my all steel semis though.

Never tried Ballistol but Hoppes works great for me and I like the smell also hahah and yes I do leave a window open for air.

I recent decided to try the Balistoil too. Actually, the smell doesn't bother me. It reminds me of something from my past I can't quite place though. It seems to clean well, and leave a light oil, but I still lube as usual after cleaning with it, not sure if I really need to, but it's habit.

I keep hearing about Ballistol; I might get on the wagon on this. I hear it can be used to condition leather, too with no ill effects.

Havent tried it. Been using break free clp which seems pretty similar. I still points tiny dots of oil n the slide rails though.

I've heard really good things about it but I've never used it. I'm using Weapon Shield CLP and their grease at the moment and I love it. I don't think I'll ever switch to anything else.

It works pretty well as a lube. In my experience it sticks around longer than Breakfree CLP but not as well as synthetic motor oil. It won't hurt wood so I use it on my wood stocked guns and motor oil on the plastic ones.

You get used to the smell after a while.

1 part Ballistol + 10 parts water = Moose Milk. Highly recommended as a cleaner for black powder/corrosive milsurp ammo.

I bought it for cleaning my MoNag & SKS.

I'll stick with my regular oils & greases for lubrication.

It should lube pretty well. It's basically mineral oil and Isohexane.
