    Sig DAK trigger to SRT

    Hi all,

I'm considering getting a sig 229 with the DAK trigger. But I wanted to know what it would take/cost to change the trigger from the DAK to the SRT, in case I end up not liking the DAK. The DAK doesn't come with a decocker, so I'm assuming in addition to the standard SRT trigger parts, I would need additional parts...any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated.

    thanks.

Do you mean converting it back to SA/DA with the SRT?

Yes, you need quite a bunch of parts to convert the DAK back to SA/DA, but it can be done.

From here, (same place that sells the parts btw...):
Parts to convert from DAK to DA/SA

    Decocking Lever
    Decocking Lever Spring
    Decocking Lever Bearing
    Hammer
Hammer Strut Pin (except P239 which is integral) *Note* Recently, #34280325 and #34280325N have been coming with the Hammer Strut Pin already installed
    Hammer Reset Spring
    Hammer Strut
    Mainspring
    Safety Lever
    Sear
    Sear Spring
    Trigger Bar
DA/SA Grips with Decocking Lever cutout
I have not priced it out but I've seen others say that its about $200 in parts.

In addition to these parts you also need the SRT kit as they don't sell the SRT sear separately.

Thanks for the info and link, that's exactly what I was looking for. Sounds like I better be sure I like the dak before getting it, otherwise it's going to be pricey to convert.

I am dealing with this right now. I JUST got my "like new" sig p239 SAS out of jail yesterday. It came with the DAK and while it is not bad, I prefer the DA/SA trigger, It just seems a little safer to have that really heavy first trigger pull.
I priced all the parts and, yeah, its about $200 in parts, plus you gotta find someone who will do it for you.
I got off the phone with SIG today to price what the cost would be. If you go to their website and go to the custom shop services page, it shows that the DAK to DA/SA will cost about $200, plus $100 for the SRT.
So, after talking to the guy, since they already have the gun, and since they are taking it apart, and since they are already switching out the same things... they cut you a discount on additional services. When I asked about it, they even said they would throw in the rear night sight for no extra charge (this model has a front night sight but not rear).
Just call SIG and ask the dude there, they can give you a better deal when you stack services. Plus I think I would rather have them do the conversion so it will not void the warrenty and they say the turnaround time will only be a few weeks.
