Moving trigger forward on P220/P226

So, my current problem is that I have really long fingers. When the gun is in SA mode and trigger is at the most rear position and this causes me to have to bend my finger a lot to reach it and I lose a great amount of the deep grip I had on the gun.

Is there something to move the entire trigger forward but still have the same pull length and such?

Not that I'm aware of, but just to check: you don't have the skinny trigger installed on the gun, do you? A lot of newer P22Xs I've seen now come with the skinny trigger.

I have the same problem as you. When I bought my most recent 220 it had that skinny trigger and was a pain to shoot until I switched it back to the standard.

The skinny trigger referenced is the factory Short Trigger, which has become the trigger most SIGs are shipping with. The old standard factory trigger is available and isn't too expensive.

Your trigger finger should be away from the frame when it is correctly positioned on the trigger, but the sear should release with the first two joints of your finger are flat across the face of the trigger.

If the standard factory trigger still isn't long enough, you can increase the trigger reach by:
1. putting fatter grips on the gun
2. having the face of the trigger built up by welding

I tend to avoid mentioning "short trigger" if I can; a lot of people start thinking SRT and I don't want to have to explain the difference lol

SIG has a standard trigger and short trigger. This is different from the SRT.

If you're following all the correct shooting/grip methods, and already have the standard trigger, perhaps you can look into a larger grip?

I might look into larger grip, although I already installed the hogue wrap-around rubber grips that are a bit larger.

I dont think changing the trigger itself would help, as I need the trigger to move forward atleast 1/3 of an inch to be comfortable.

The standard trigger is about 1/4 inch deeper than the short trigger. So if it came with the short trigger, putting the standard trigger on will increase reach. And some of the wood grips out there seem to increase circumference over even the Hogue wraparounds.

Thanks I will look for some standard triggers, mine must def be the short trigger as its incredibly thin.
