    Revolver and bullet fitting problems

I have a GP 100 and I went to the range today (oak tree) and bought some 357 reloads. When I tried loading the bullets, the bullets went in all the way except for a centimeter. I returned the bullets and the guys behind the counter opened a box of American eagle 357 and they also didn't fit (exactly like the reloads).

I came home and I have a box of 357 hornandy and they fit fine.

I have fired a lot of 357's out of this gun and never had a problem until today.

Interestingly, my buddy has a 38 special and he bought a box of reloads at the Glendale gun show and those bullets did the same thing in his gun as what happened to me today. My buddy have me the box and they fit fine in my gp100.

    Any thoughts on this.

Sounds like dirt in the chambers from shooting .38 Specials. Try a good scrubbing with a .40 brush. I use a piece of cleaning rod & a drill motor.

A flared .357 case makes a good scraper.

Yup, ya gotta brush out the chamber after shooting a bunch of .38s before you go to .357.

      Were the reloads lead bullets?
If so, they are likely a couple thousands of an inch larger in diameter than jacketed bullets.
The lead bullet loads would make the problems of a fouled / dirty chambers worse.

I fired about 24 shots before I put in the 357's. When i got home, my Hornandy fit In with ease in all chambers.

Btw, the reload 357's wouldn't fit in any chamber

Yeah - the reloads probably weren't sized back down enough to chamber in a fouled revolver.

You'll want to scrub out the cylinders as recommended above. That should solve your problem.
