Thoughts on my new Glock 26.

Picked it up Monday to add to my G22 and G17. I shoot the heck out of my G22 and love it. I shoot it very well and it is 100% reliable. I have a 1st generation 17 that doesn't get shot much just because I like the 22 so well.
Anyways, went with the G26 because of the ammo cost and I plan on shooting it alot.
Shot a quick 100 rounds through it this morning and it shoots just like I imagined. No hiccups at all! Extrememly light, easy in the hand and the pinky under the magazine doesn't bother me a bit! No mag extensions for me. Fast pointing and able to get sights on target immediately. Shot it out to 12 yards and was able to keep it in a 3x3 inch square. At 3 to 7 yards, shots mostly touch if I do my part. Trigger is excellent! I do believe I am really going to like this little pistol! Now just need to find a good CCW holster. I see a .40 and .45 in my future............

Glad to find someone else out there that has tried this and likes it. I can't stand the mag extensions on my 27. In fact, I think I have a couple laying around here that I need to get rid of.

The 26 is an awesome little 9mm. I have never had an issue with mine. Curling the pinky under the mag is natural for me. It shoots just fine with a G15, G17 or G18 mag in it also. I also like how the front of the slide & frame are chambered off compared to my 19. It's too bad the '68 GCA won't allow a single stack 9mm or .380 Glock pocket pistol to be imported.

Your experience mirrors mine.

I avoided the G26 because I could not imagine it would be an accurate pistol. Found a smoking deal on a used one and simply amazed every time I shoot it. 15 yards 3" groups all day long.

However I think I am going to get a pinky rest and see how it feels.

Picked up my G26 last week. 250 rounds no problems. Great gun.

You should absolutely try it both ways. I threw the pinky extensions on mine as soon as I got it and after a few months I tried shooting without them and WOW! It's so much more comfortable with the flat baseplates. I feel like I missed out on a couple months with my baby.

Have owned my G26 for two years and carried it nearly everday for 18 months. I can shoot it almost as well as my very early Gen1 G17. The holsters I use for CCW are:

1. Comp-Tac Minotaur when I'm going to be carrying all day - most comfortable but kind of a pain to get on and off with the J clips. Get the "slide" version and it will also work for all your other Glocks (17, 19, etc.)
2. DeSantis Tuck This II - When I'm just going out for a few hours somewhere. The built in mag pouch is nice as it holds a pre-ban G17 mag as an extra.
3. DeSantis Superfly for pocket carry - for when I have big pockets and I'm just running to the store.
4. DeSantis Die Hard Ankle rig with calf strap (strap is a must). Don't wear this often as the 26 feels like a brick on my ankle and trying to do a quick draw is dicey, but I use it when I can't use any of the others.

I was sold on the 26, when I found I could clear a plate rack (6" plates) at 50 yards.
Took a few rounds to workout POI vs POA, but after that, hit hit hit...
I don't like the "target" trigger though - a bit of sandpaper helps.

Yes..I had problems with this serrated trigger eating my finger.....so I just swaped it for a smooth (G17) trigger. Took about 5 minutes.

Love my Glock 26s.

Well worth the 5 bucks....for me it offers more support for the pinky (if you want it) and it really makes it easy to pull out of a mag holster.
