legality and off roster

i haven't been on here for a while now, and is it just me or did we have a boom of new members? im just asking because everyday i keep seeing "is it legal"and "why is this not legal". do these new guys know the difference of being "illegal/banned" and off roster? has anyone said look, just because it is not on the roster doesn't mean it will be illegal to own, or buy. it just means its not on the safe handgun list and cannot be sold new from a retailer. am i the only one that gets a little annoyed seeing the "legal/illegal" thing get beaten to death when it comes to off roster guns?

I was thinking about helping to compile a sticky with (what seems like) a lot of common questions

-Is the Glock 17/19/22... Gen 4 legal to own in California?
-How do I get a XDm?
-I had this gun for 25 years, and now I can't sell because it's not legal to own?!

Actually...now that you got the little hamster wheel going...I am going to write out some of these things and might put up a post about these things...

well thats really not needed. all members need to do is search.... then we wouldn't have the same questions come up all the time. everything about the roster has been said over and over again.

If search worked effectively, or if new members knew what terms to search for, things would be different.

I had the idea of a "quick questions thread" to be stickied rather than having all of these repeat threads, but it wasn't well received. Apparently people feel more special when they clutter with their own thread. Or the 234234234 "reviews" we have of common guns.
