    Is this normal?

Hey guys, this stinks of newbiness, but I figured I should ask anyway. After my last thorough field strip and cleaning of two of my semiauto pistols (Sig SP 2022 in 40 and Kahr CW9 in 9mm) I've noticed that when I chamber a round in either gun, the rim/primer pocket of the cartridge is visible in both guns if you look at the chamber with the pistols seemingly in full battery. Is this normal or did I mess something up?

All factory ammo, regardless of ammo type. Did I reassemble the slide incorrectly?

I can't see the chamber on a pistol when it's in full battery, that's why they have a loaded chamber indicator. On mine the chambers are covered up by the slide. You can see it from where? Can't quite picture this....

On XD's there is a slight gap between the end of the barrel hood and the ejection port where you can see the case rim...

It doesn't sound normal but a picture will help us know for sure what you are talking about.

I have a Sig 2022 as well and if I look through the side of the ejection port I can see the brass through a very small gap between the barrel and the slide.

If these are reloads, the brass may be too long.

Yes, the cartridge does not go completely inside the chamber, rear flush with the chamber face. The rim will show.

                              Normal.
