changing barrel length?

Is there any problems with changing the barrel length on a pistol after it has been registered?
For instance, AR15 pistol with a 7.5" barrel registered but then swapping for a 10.5" barrel (upper switch).

a pistol can change barrel all you want within those lengths. No issue at all.

If the configuration doesn't make it into an AW, SBR, SBS, or some other thing that's illegal for you to own then it's good to go.

The only time I can think of this being a problem is if you bought a rostered pistol (not yours in this case), then changed the barrel on it. This takes it out of rostered status, and it's now an off-roster pistol.

Its not a problem even if it is a rosterred pistol. The roster only affects what an FFL can sell from his inventory to buyers that arent exempt, it has nothing to do with what is legal to possess.

yeah I should have clarified that the Rostering issues would only come into play if he wanted to resell the gun in a non-PPT to a california resident; even then, it's little issue so long as he still has the original parts to make it back into its roster model.
