AR Pistol - DI Vs Piston

I'm just curious what most people prefer...

Typical DI system in the 7.5 to 10" barrel lengths...

Or something like the RRA Piston system which removes the need for the buffer tube assembly?

Ive been told the piston systems run a lot more reliable, and the reduction in size seems to be a cool benefit.

Does anyone actually prefer having the buffer tube there?

For that barrel length, I would go piston.

More reliable? Not sure about that one, as I've NEVER had a problem with a DI gun so long as it was properly lubed. Didn't matter how dirty it was. In such a short barrel length, a piston is probably going to run a lot smoother, and it's not going to wear out parts nearly as fast. Carbine and pistol length gas systems can be tough on parts, so that's something to keep in mind.

I could take it or leave it, honestly. An AR pistol is never going to be all that small, so it makes no difference to me whether the buffer is there or not.
    Just my two cents.

      My DI 7.5 works great

Buffer tube is a big plus, more stable aiming platform, cheek that puppy & keep on target

I like the piston on my Sig556(rifle) but she's a heavy gal, I like the super light weight DI AR pistol, go to a shop like Valkyrie Arms and hold one of each the DI is much lighter
Does anyone actually prefer having the buffer tube there? try cheeking the buffer tube & steadily shooting on target each shot as apposed to just holding all that weight out in front of you swaying all over the place trying to aim....
