    Any tips on Ruger SR40c?

I just bought a Ruger SR40c. I will not be able to take possession for another 25 days. Anyone have any tips about this gun? Going to order some bulk 40 ammo so that I can familiarize myself with the caliber and the gun once it is released to me. Meanwhile, thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

I was looking at the sr40c to replace my xd40 service.
I heard on the Ruger forums there were some issues with light strikes, solution was to completely disassemble the striking pin and clean the channel dry from manufacturing grease, then light lube and reassemble. I was able to test fire and really feels like a 9mm, the snappiness is not as apparent vs XD40, most likely the double recoil spring and great design taken from the popular 9mm.

I was going to buy a sr9c for my wife, But after lots of consideration I decided on going against my budget and just going for the M&P9c. From what I've read those light primer strikes etc had me a little worried. I like the src series but I'd have to go with the reliability of a M&P or XD before the sr series. Just buy some more magazines, Holster, Cleaning products, Ammo, And a case (my favorite) Goodluck and I hope it works out for you, Besides some of the issues people seem to have it is a great little gun.

I own the sr40c. At first, I was hesitant about the reported issues but I took the plunge. I cleaned it out very well (including the striker channel) and have had one FTE after 1300+ rounds. I blame cheap CCI aluminum.

It has since performed very well, is accurate and feels good.

One suggestion is to make sure you clean out your striker channel. I also removed my magazine disconnect, which may have smoothed out the trigger. I have heard removal also increases reliability.

Overall I see no use for it since none of my other pistols have it anyway.

You have to consider that for any product, you are more likely to hear negative things than good things. Because if you're happy with a product you generally use it instead of complain about it. So I'm guessing for every bad gun from ruger there are thousands of good ones.
