FNP 40 owners. I have a question

When I remove the slide from my gun, I look at the spring and notice that its not seated all the way in the grove. I end up pushing it down before I put the gun together. Is this normal? Does this happen to anyone else? Any help is welcomed.

I'm pretty sure I know what you are asking, and it happens with Glocks too, and from what I have read it is normal/fine.
