First gen glock23

So ive been told there is no such thing as a gen1 g23.
Well I just traded my AR for g23 and apparently its the first model that came out. Has anyone ever owned the first glock 23 that was released?
If so whats the difference between that and the gen3 glock23?

I didnt trade straight across, I know the early glocks are worth more than an AR so I gave him the stag ar and $350. He said it was worth ALOT because of collector value.

The only collector Glock is the Glock 7, an all ceramic pistol that costs more than you make in a year. According to John Maclean anyway!

Correct, there are no Gen 1 glock 40's. There are gen 2 (grenade texture on grips), gen 2.5 (grenade texture on grip and an accessory light rail) and gen 3 (fingergroves and light rail.) What are the first 2 or 3 "alpha" numbers of the serial number, I can tell you aprox age and if any upgrades/ updates are needed.

Cool lol thats what I wanted to make sure of, I absolutely love my g27 and feels so rite compared to other pistol makers.

So picked up g23 yesterday. I must say it is much dufferent than my g27 gen 3 but so far I like it.
