One wait almost over, another just barely beginning...

Picking this one up on Friday ...

    S&W 1911 PD, 5" barrel.

Just put this one on layaway...

    HK USP Expert 45 cal.

Feb 05 I bought my first pistol, a USP f40 cal. After that, I bought an RIA 1911 Government, added custom grips and a kimber 22 conversion kit.

I met a girl and she was, essentially, a loser, and had to sell my collection because of some crappy decisions she had made. Now that I said goodbye to her almost 2 monthes ago, I'm taking a step back in time.

When I originally thought about selling my USP, it was to get a USP 45 Expert. Now I've got one on layaway, and I can't wait to pick it up... plus, a killer 1911.

I'm so glad to be getting back into this hobby with a vengeance!

BTW, can you tell I love 45ACP?

I also have a Charter Arms .38 Undercover from '71 that I inherited from my grandpa, a 37 Mosin Nagant M91/30, a 47 Mosin Nagant M44 with ATI scope mount, and a Rem 870 12ga trap gun.

Next up is an AR-15 to replace the Kel-Tec I gave up for the loser.

And an old flame with a bachelor's degree from Duke to replace the loser... hopefully.

I like your style, nice restart with those two handguns. Rent women, it's less dramatic Joking! Just find one that will let you enjoy your new guns.

Never sell guns for a woman!!! Glad to see you are getting some firearms to replace what you gave up.
sigpicIf you loan someone twenty dollars and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I also just bought a HK 45 Expert but have to wait until 12/27 to DROS it due to the one gun a month rule. I agree, the waiting is brutal and serves no real purpose for people with multiple handguns.

Just picked up my 1911 tonight.

My only complaint about the pistol is the sloppiness in the trigger fit, it wobbles up and down, not a huge deal though. The gun shoots great, put 140 rounds through it without a single choke. Cleaned it up and put it away just a few minutes ago.

Brought the new girl with me too - she really liked shooting 45. I taught her on a rental Ruger Mk3 and then let her shoot my 12 ga a few weeks ago. This is her first try on a "big" handgun and she did quite well. I was doing about a 2" group at 7yds, and I haven't practiced pistol shooting in well over a year. I'm sure with the USP form factor I could do better - jan 21 is a long ways away to pick up the HK.

Very impressed with the 1911PD though. For as little as you pay, it's a well equipped firearm with punch, accuracy, and reliability.

The one hand gun a month law is killing me.
I have three still that I have to wait for 30 days, and me and my wife have been drosing together for the last couple of months.

Very handsome piece. I need some more time to get the photos of it right, but there are some teasers for now.

Can't wait for Jan 21 though!!!

Decision SHE made? WTF? SHould have let her sleep in her own bed of sh%$!

You will love the Expert- I have an elite, and it's a really accurate pistol with a nice trigger, esp. for a polymer gun.
If you're steady, it'll hold its own against a tuned 1911.
(Balance is not as good- it's got no mass in the grip after all).

Most definitely *should* have, especially in retrospect. I was of the infantile belief that we would be together for a long time, and any bad decision of hers that I let turn into an awful decision would end up hurting me in the end. Being wiser now... yeah, eff that!

I have always shot better with my USPF40 than with any 1911 I've ever shot - I think the wide grip on the USP series pistols just fits my hands a whole lot better. The 1911 is fun, and very handsome, but my German ancestors demand that I have at least one HK.

Thats a good woman right there

I am just content keeping my wife out of my safe! I'm thinking of buying another CCW weapon... but I think I'm going to be limited to stainless because she'll notice if the gun is a different color! She knows I got rid of the blued guns
