I have a Kimber and they are great pieces of art (look in my avitar ^^^^) , even though they do seem to have more lemons than one would expect.

the only thing I would change is the back strap, All of that lovely metal and they use a plastic back strap.

also in the future the extractor may need to be replaced
I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.

Congrats on the new Kimber... The raptors are sexy... It's one of the 1911's on my list.

Oh and what a generous gf you have... You should try and keep her around for a while

I would take it out and shoot it... A Lot! I wouldn't look into changing anything (except maybe the grips, but thats just me) until you really break it in... Going on three years with my TLE/RL II and I have not changed a thing..(except grips..) When I got mine...everyone told my to swap the springs out, ASAP..but I have not had any issues so far... But as M27 pointed out...I don't like the plastic back strap either....cheap, cheap, cheap on an otherwise outstanding product...

All you need to do is shoot it.

The Ultra Rapor is one of my favorite handguns...I also have the 4" & 5" Raptor II's...IMHO the nicest guns to come out of the Kimber Custom Shop.

                    Congrats!!! Enjoy

Oh Yea....you will need more ammo..

Just strip her down and lube her up first before taking her out.

As for your gun, I would just get some rounds through her and then decide if you have a 'need' to change anything.

Congrats man. Is the Raptor II pricey because of the aesthetics or is it better in some way than their cheaper stuff?
