    Glock 22 Generation 3

    Hi guys.

Having owned an HK USP40 for two years, I am in the market for a second pistol. My tastes are fairly utilitarian, so right now I am looking at Glocks. The one I like the most is the Glock 22. I know that the latest Glocks are Generation 4 but from the reviews I found there are some issues that still need to be worked out. Would Generation 3 be a safer bet? I am looking for a "no frills" pistol - very reliable, reasonably accurate, and can use most commercial .40 S&W loads. If possible, I would prefer one with the OD frame.

Also, I am in the Santa Barbara area. Where would I be able to find one for the best price?

I like the GLOCK 22 Gen3...good weapon and .40 is a great round.

The advantage to the Glock 22 platform is you can run a .357 SIG barrel and a 9MM conversion unit. I also like the idea that it runs 15 round preban mags.

Finding an OD frame might be slightly difficult these days. Glock discontinued them 2 years ago.

    Be well, Bob

I have a G22 Gen 3 and its been 100% reliable since the say I bought it. I feed it steel cased ammo all the time with zero issues.

And the OD is very hard to come by. Search the Private Sales section on Calguns.

I have a Glock 22C Gen 3, and it is a great gun.

I do not like Gen 4s because of the rough texture...feel it yourself...maybe because I got too used to the Gen 3s

For what you asked for, a gen. 3 Glock 22 would definitely fit.

Can't go wrong with one of these, just be price aware. They can be had anywhere from 489 to 569 new. And check-out the Magpul speed plates for the glocks while looking!
