Just looking for a little clarification. Is there such a thing as Glock 21sf Gen 4?

Or only a glock 21 gen4?

With the removable backstraps on the Gen 4, there's no need for a SF version.

-The Gen 4 Glock 21 without any backstrap installed is the same size as a Gen 3 Glock 21SF.

-The Gen 4 Glock 21 with the medium backstrap installed is the same size as a Gen 3 Glock 21.

-The Gen 4 Glock 21 with the large backstrap installed makes it bigger than any Gen 3 Glock.

The Gen4 Glocks use a reversable magazine release.
Which allows the user to switch the magazine release to which ever side they want it on.

There were four variants of the Glock 21SF. Only two of those variants had the ambi-mag release.
#1. Glock 21SF with picatinny rail + ambi-mag release (discontinued)
#2. Glock 21SF with glock rail + ambi-mag release (discontinued)
#3. Glock 21SF with glock rail + standard mag release (current production)
#4. Glock 21SF RTF2 with glock rail + standard mag release (special LE agency order)

In addition to the first two variants of the Glock 21SF, Glock also made two other Glocks (17MB & 19MB) that used the ambi-mag release. The Glock 17MB & 19MB were never imported into the USA and were sold for a brief time in the EU.

Glock has discontinued the ambi-mag release on all Glocks due to problems associated with the ambi-mag release.

the 3rd 21sf or the 4th gen glock21 are the ones to get unless you have Andre the giant hands. My 21sf is my favorite pistol to shoot.

IIRC, Gen 4 21 is not on the CA DOJ Roster, so you have to get it via SSE if possible.
I just ordered the last 21SF at my local Turners. So should have mine in 10 days.

You will enjoy the 21SF....A great .45 platform.

Another way (out of many) is too receive an off roster handgun as a gift from an out of State vertical relative. (Parent, adult kids, grandfather).

In my case, my adult daughter lives in Oklahoma and being a free State it takes her about 6 minutes to choose, purchase and walk out with just about anything.

Those handguns are exempt from the roster.


Gonna cost you a transfer fee plus Dros however.
