    PPQ 9mm magazine question

I'm looking to SSE this pistol, but I am a little afraid of mag availability. Does anyone have experience with using SW99 (9mm - 10 rounders) in their PPQ? I have seen others talk about "newer" p99 mags working as well as the mags from MR for the Mr Eagle, but haven't heard or read of anyone using the SW99 mags, just curious as these mags seem the easiest to get (I could be looking in the wrong places though). This would help me finalize my decision!

Any help or insight would be appreciated!

Another question to more experienced shooters than myself: should I just forget about the headache of SSE and look into a hk USP (9mm)? I like this pistol a lot too, though I have only shot the .45 version. And after SSE and mag prices for the PPQ the price difference should be minimal between the USP and the PPQ.

Thanks for the link. Did they preform as well as the factory mags?

You are going to love the PPQ if you go that way. My wife is taking mine for carry.
I bought the Pro Mags but put the followers from the 15 round Walther re-build kits in them. I have about 2000 rounds through them with no problems running this way.
I have not tried the P99 mags, but I know the Magnum Research QA, Smith and Wesson 99, as well as P99 mags are "comapatible" but you need to double check the feed ramp area, some of the older mags are different and will require modification to work properly.

I have done some reading on the older p99 mag compatibility. I don't own any p99 mags and buying new ones that I have to modify is just not what I'm looking to do. Thats great news that your wife and you are happy with the pistol, I do think I will end up going with the ppq as it is what I want. I just didn't want to spend that kind of money on a pistol I couldn't get mags for, but I think that is a great idea of using the follower from the factory mags! I think I will bite the bullet so to speak and put in the order!

        Thanks for your input!
