    Torn between two 9mm's

I want a 9mm and have narrowed it down to these:

Glock 17 for $469 + tax and fees

    Or

    Smith&Wesson M&P 9mm for $509 +tax and fees.

I like the ergos of the M&P over the Glock, but I shoot both just fine. The Glock would come with three mags and has far more aftermarket support.

    What do you guys think?

    **UPDATE** 03/19/2012

I made my decision and went with a Glock 17. The price, extra mag and the aftermarket support were in the end the decisive factors. Thanks for all the opinions. I don't know why, but I have a feeling that an M&P will sneak its way into my safe one day

              1911 in .45 acp.

The only 9mms I have left are a Sigma with 4 or 5 17 round mags (so, there's no reasom to get rid of it) and a MAC clone so that I can use all my Sten mags. Otherwise, unless you need a 9mm for a specific type of competition or you are just getting a hell of a deal on one, I'd suggest either a .22lr or a .45acp.

If you shoot both just fine then get the GLOCK 17.

The Glock 17 is a cornerstone weapon.

                1. It will run 100,000 rounds no problem. (assuming good ammo)
                2. It will feed dirty, crappy, 9MM NATO rounds that you can scavage off a dead zombie.
                3. You can go swimming with it; it will still run 100%
                4. Dead-nuts reliable.
                5. A plethora of aftermarket sights, barrels, triggers are available.
                6. It will run normal 17 round magazines or 32 round magazines.
                7. It will always be worth $500.
                8. You can overhaul the entire weapon in 10 minutes. Parts are cheap.

                Get more than one Glock.

                Be well, Bob

It sounds like the Smith and Wesson M&P to me. Go with the good ergo (for you) if you shoot both equally.

G17 gen 2 all stock. About to replace sights tho.

+1 for the M&P, ergo goes a long way.....
If you get it in .40 and get a factory 9mm barrel ($80) and some 9mm mags you can shoot both, I've put a few thousand 9mm and .40 through my M&P now without a hiccup!

What is silly about not caring for 9mm? I don't really care for tuperware guns or even most double stacked guns either. If the OP is stuck on getting a 9mm, why not go the 1911 route? Then again, if going to a 1911, why not just go to a .45acp?
