Mineral spirits for metal parts and blow dryer or vat of rice to remove from wood.

how i do it is wipe as much off with towels before, pour boiling water and mineral spirits on metal use brush to wipe everything up rinse in hot water followed by a detail cleaning of the rifle then wipe down with rem oil and for the stock black trash bags and sun wipe with rags every hour or so

FYI be sure to clean chamber and bolt very good

I remove mine by repeated used and cleaning. The pressure from ammunition blasts that stuff out of there quite well.

Unload, then field strip the gun. Remove the stocks. Soak metal parts in kerosene or mineral spirits, brush from time to time with a soft-brush to remove the cosmoline. Soak and brush are required. Ventilate well during this process.

Next, clean the gun well with Eezox (my favorite gun maintenance product), let dry, then was with one to three coats of Renaissance Wax. It will look great, and clean up really easily after shooting.

Don't waste your money, Brake cleaner will not dissolve cosmoline, the best way is to either repeated wipe it off or use a heat gun before wiping it.

Whatever you have to do to get it nice and hot, THEN clean it.

You gotta get the cosmoline nice and runny before you have any chance of cleaning it up.

I detail stripped my RIA Tactical 2011. Placed all the parts on an old grill over a bucket and sprayed it all down with Brake Cleaner. Yes, I said brake cleaner. Immediately wiped down all the parkerized parts, (slide, frame, bushing, safeties, etc) with Hoppes, and cleaned as usual. Just spray the frame and slide one at a time. If the cleaner stays on too long, it makes the park sort of chalky and takes longer to make it look right again. This worked just fine for me.

                          Cosmo Oven.

But if TIA = RIA, it will just be a little grease, nothing to bad.

First, I wiped off as much as I could with clean paper towels. Then, I used Hoppes to clean inside the barrel. After that, I sprayed the whole gun down well with Break Free aerosol gun cleaner (remove the wood grips first). After allowing it to dry, I wiped the gun down well with Slip 2000 EWL (clear synthetic gun oil). I allowed the oil to sit for half an hour and then simply wiped the gun down to remove excess oil. After every cleaning, I wipe the exterior again with Slip 2000 and then wipe it dry. That dull, ugly parkerized finish now looks smooth and has a nice finish to it. From what i have read, parkerization sucks up and holds oil to protect the surface. Mine does not feel oily. It looks a hell of a lot better now than when it came out of the box. The chalky look someone mentioned goes away once the finish has absorbed some oil.

Put it in a bucket and piss all over it...... I kid

My RIA had oil on it and no cosmoline. A rag was good enough to get it off.

That is if Tia = RIA.
