    CCI Shotshell Ammo

    Hey all,

Now I do not intend to shoot a lot of this type of ammo, just have it in my gun when I go camping out in the desert for small animals and or snakes. I will have a Sig P226 9mm when it comes out of jail, so my question is does anyone know any fte/ftf etc problems with the CCI shotshells that are used in semi auto guns, or would this type of ammo better for my GP100?

I've never heard, or read, about any problems besides the donut pattern out of some guns. Just pattern it at different ranges. The. 22 stuff is supposed to be pretty weak.

      Here is my report.

Even though my XD40 cycled these without issue, I later realized that I am not too concerned if it has a FTE.

Think about it, you are using these for a snake in which you have a little distance time. If you happen to miss or not complete you dispersal, just tap/rack if it doesn't extract.

I even went a step further and put the 40sw round in my Glock 29 (10mm). It shot nicely, but only extracted 50%. I was good with that as that is my hiking sidearm.

I prefer using shotshells in revolvers. I've given up carrying shotshells in autos. It's also easier to load shotshells for wheel guns. I typically only shoot 4-6 rattlers a year 'cause, I don't go looking for them.

Exactly, i only use shotshells in my revolvers, there are too many problems using them with autos.

Ran a few through a Sig P229 tonight. They cycled about 90% with just one FTE.

I used to reload the .44 shotshell (still have some plastic cups out in the garage) and I would swear I remember reading somewhere that Speer said that feeding in semi-autos is "iffy". But that was years ago. They were still squared off things. They might have modernized them since.
