    Q on a glock 23 .40

Is the safety on the glock 23, .40cal just the tab on the trigger?

There are some internal safeties, but they cannot be manually effected. So yeah, just the trigger.

Glock's have no external manual safety; they ave three (or four depending on how you look at it) internal passive safeties.
      The trigger block.
      The striker block
The trigger bar safety (drop safety)

Glock is one of the safer (in my my opinion) handguns out there... as long as you remember, as you always should, that if you pull that trigger, it WILL fire.
So don't dick around with the trigger unless you want the loud noise.

Like everyone said, no external safety except your finger and brain. Internal safeties though to prevent accidental (not negligent, but factors beyond our control) discharges such as drops, etc.

Think of a glock the same as a double action revolver. Keep your finger out of the trigger guard until ready to fire. Don't have the bad habit of keeping your finger inside the guard, especially while you holster the weapon...bad news.

thanks for the replies. I have never owned a glock, but a friend just picked one up and wanted to know about the safety.
