    M&P 45 trigger slap

So I was out shooting and my buddy was using his new M&P 45 with thumb safety. He asked if I wanted to give it a go and being interested in the gun I gave it a run.

I noticed the trigger had a rather sharp "slap" to it when fired. I fired several magazines each round fired was more uncomfortable than the last. Is this common with the stock trigger? If so I do not see where all the rave reviews about this gun come from.

I'm not new to 45's I've been shooting them(1911's,HK,Glock,FNP,P220 and so on) over 25 years.

I hope it was just this one gun because I would like to add an M&P 45 to my stable.

what do you mean by trigger slap? the trigger reset? most complain that the reset isn't as noticeable as it should be and install the apex kit to increase the reset.

Sorry, "slap" I guess is an old term. It is a stinging sensation much like having the back of your finger flicked after the shot breaks. It is common on AK's with single hook triggers.

"Slap" has nothing to do with the feel of the reset. It is felt while the trigger is held to the rear as the shot breaks.

Other than this issue I thought the gun was ok.

Uh, that doesn't sound normal. If anything, M&P triggers are gritty or spongy .

I had what I thought was slap with a S&W M&P40sc (don't quote me on the model number, it was the subcompact .40) It turns out it was just the trigger safety pinching my finger after i shot. Very uncomfortable... I didn't like it very much. It was part of the reason I bought a Glock 27 instead of the M&P.

Interesting? I will have to test this out on Wed. when we head back out.

Neither Turo's issue or the OP's are normal.

I noticed mine has a pronounced click/vibration when it's dry fired. It may be what you are describing. Too busy to notice when firing it though.

I think that's common with all DAO striker fired guns. My glocks do that too.
