    What would be a good place to find the value of this pistol?
    New, unfired, in case with all docs.
    Gold border of grips Silver grips double gold medailons(sp)

    The sad thing is that a run of the mill production Colt from the same time period has appreciated more than the special edition. It's still a nice gun though. For a very nice example figure about $1200 or so.

          $1200 might be a stretch. They made two versions. A Pacific and a European theater model. Typically you find them as a matched set.

          I sold a pair last year, albeit pretty quickly, for $2250. I guess $1200 would be a good starting point.

            Agreed, I was thinking $1000 might be more realistic for that gun...but hey it's CA and you only need the right buyer.

              i was thinking $1200 for a unfired pristine example... but I think we are in the ballpark around $1000-$1200. I sold one with replacement grips for like $1100.
