Ok, so I have a uncle in Florida that's a FFL dealer and I'm trying to get a Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion. As you guys know, it's not on the roster and I'm trying to find out if it would be legal if he can ship to a shop that's licensed to do the SSE. Do any of you guys know? My uncle hasn't got back to me yet hence this thread.

FFL to FFL question

Short answer: yes.
There's nothing illegal about a CA FFL receiving an off-Roster handgun; it's legal to sell off-Roster handguns to LEOS and LE agencies.
Getting the buy-in from the CA FFL to do the SSE is the only obstacle. If your chosen FFL is willing and able, should be smooth sailing.ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

no other state wants to deal with ca. and how would the fl "ddaj" or doj equivalent have a clue about ca laws? its perfectly legal but still may not happen because of the other 47 states caution on what is legal/illegal to have in ca. sse from one of the local guys. may cost a little more but you wont be stuck trying to convince your uncle to do something he may not be 100% comfortable doing. (while perfectly legal)Iam a good shot. At least i think i would be. Iam a good free throw shooter.Comment

Yeah, that's what will probably end up happening. The bright side is, he can send me a SA 1911 TRP for pretty cheap compared to retail.no other state wants to deal with ca. and how would the fl "ddaj" or doj equivalent have a clue about ca laws? its perfectly legal but still may not happen because of the other 47 states caution on what is legal/illegal to have in ca. sse from one of the local guys. may cost a little more but you wont be stuck trying to convince your uncle to do something he may not be 100% comfortable doing. Why not just buy the same gun from Michael at www.EBRWorks.com ? I think he has them in stock and he is already in California. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...19#post7756619

Yeah, I completely agree
Thanks for the reply and referral. I called them and they have some, BUT they won't be able to ship it because they don't have enough SSE barrels. I'd rather not take the drive up there.
