    That little chip/mark shouldn't affect accuracy, just cosmetic damage.

      I was thinking the same as the above post but the nick is right on the edge of the crown. I think I'd send the photos to S&W and see what they say. S&W has excellent customer service. HTH c good

        I called the customer service and they suggested I put more rounds through her. I asked them to send the return package but I am going to put in some more range time before I ship her out.

        After I called smith I took her to the local shop and they confirmed it is only on the crown not the muzzle and taught me a thing or two about revolver shooting. I am going to try the new techniques once the rain eases up and I have high hopes.

              They are factory wood grips. The 625 v-comp came with both wood grips and the one found on the 629 vcomp. I think vcomps are every bit as good as my python.
