    taurus m85 ul?

I think I have messed up already. I put a Taurus m85 ul on layaway cause of a sale going on. When I did a search here and on the web. I here about half good and half bad reviews. Some sites more good. But a lot of the threads on the issues are about two years to eight years old. nothing really recent. Any change since then? Should I just go for or take a loss on layaway money? Can a lot of problems be fixed on my own if needed?

No, because you will void the lifetime warranty. I have owned 3 Taurus revolvers, and they all worked fine. UL is a great pocket gun.

I carry one and we sell quite a few. No problems noted. They're not the Cadillac of wheel guns, but definitely utilitarian.

I figure for $280 new worth a shot? Blfd1, you said you sell them often. Do you see less problems with them now?

I have one I use for pocket carry, good little gun. Nothing you will ever want to put alott of rounds though, but it will serve its purpose as a deep cover/back up gun.

Taurus is hit or miss, if you miss you can send it in and get it fixed. I have a little P22 that broke the barrel release lever, called them and they sent me a new BRL and I was able to fix it myself, I found thier customer service to actually be pretty good. In my case anyway.

For the cost of the M85UL I think its worth a shot that you will get a hit.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

I've had one for 3 years now, it's been fine. Not sorry I bought it.

I have a Taurus 85M - same basic mechanism inside as the UL... I carried that gun for several year prior to Hutchens.

It's a good and reliable gun. I had one issue in the very beginning (2000) with light hammer strikes. Taurus fixed it for free and the revolver has been trouble free since.

Once you get yours, put it through its paces with various types of ammo. I have a hunch that they have since tightened up their quality.

Somewhere I read someone mention with Taurus revolvers its best to take side plate off and blow it out or clean it to remove any shavings from machining that might of been left behind? True?
