Task: pick up another 3-in-1 pepper spray for a gal at work (failed, out of stock)
Result: S&W 686-3 .357mag 2.5" bbl sitting in CA 10-day jail (success!)
A complete holster queen (minor scuffs on outer/right side below cylinder, underneath of trigger guard and butt of the cutom grips from where it was worn and hit stuff) that showed up in the shop yesterday, she went on my CC for $325 today. Lockup is tighter than my new 686-6, looks like ~50 rounds fired and never even cleaned (I don't see any brass brush swirls at least, and the gun is filthy - was not cleaned before sale) - zero muzzle wear and I see a bit of copper fouling in the bbl. Apparently someone came in yesterday and unloaded the whole collection as they were moving, shop owner says the seller was a legit guy who didn't abuse his gear, but obviously didn't keep it clean.
According to Google, this is somewhere in the 1990 (intro of 2.5" bbl) to 1994 (686-4 introduced) timeframe (pre-lock for sure). Big full size frame too, goes all the way down to the bottom of the grips sith a nice serrated strap. (L-frame?) Whatever, it was something I was "sorta looking for" but when they cut me a deal, I jumped.
The scuffs can be polished out and she'll look like a million bucks once I clean her up - at $325 I couldn't pass it up, not in this shape.

(the rear sight looks off a bit, we may have to sight her in at the range first time out)
