    Kydex Holsters ?

Does anyone know if there will be a kydex holster maker at the SD gun show this weekend? I'm looking to have one custom built as I watch. Or if anyone knows someone that does it at as a side project out of their house or shop would be appreciated.

What are you looking for? I do them, but I live up in Nor Nevada.

Are you trying to see how they are made? Check out youtube if so... Many different ways and the process is pretty simple.

I just wanted to be there to give the maker some input on how I wanted it to turn out. I may just cave in and buy the materials myself and work on not being so lazy. I used to be a DIY guy, now not so much.

I know there's usually a few guys that have Kydex holsters for sale, but I can't recall ever seeing anyone actually make them on demand at the show. My guess is they wouldn't want to show people just how easy it actually is to do it yourself.. Dunno.

Lol, I don't know many people who would appreciate that, in any trade.

if you had some gun that the maker didn't have a mold for, i don't think they would be adverse to you waiting on site while they made the holster... afterall, there are tons of vids on youtube that walk you through how to make it... nothing magical about it other than good old handskills/craftsmanship for the really nice touches.

contact jim in temecula and see if he's willing to help you out. i just bought 3 holsters and 2 mag holders from him.. i placed the order sunday night and finished on fri, delivered at my house on today. dude is fast and his work is top notch. i'm very happy with the quality of his work.

you can reach jim here: http://www.tac-tech-cal.com/
he is also active on calguns here as someone else pointed out.

These folks were at the Ontario gun show,I think they're in Victorville. They told me if I have a handgun they don't have a model gun for I could drop my gun off at their shop and they would have the holster ready in a few hours.

Thank you guys, and thank you SgtJT. I'll take you up on the advice you offered, I just placed an order on knifekits.com. And, for clarification, I wasn't looking to "stand over the shoulder" of the maker, I just wanted to have a part in how the kydex was laid over the gun/configuration of the holster. Sgt, I'll probably shoot a PM your way this weekend. Thanks again.
