    First handgun

So I just picked up my first handgun yesterday a gen 4 glock 19. Won't have time to get out and shoot it for a while. It has all the updates so hopefully it's good to go. Getting some ameriglo CAP sights in orange/green. I really want lazermax to come out with the guide rod lazer for the gen 4s

The G19 is a great hand gun. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with it.

Personally, I'd start with the gun bone stock, get used to it, then see what it needs to make it fit you better. I've modded my guns, so I'm definitely not against it, but all the mods came after sending many rounds downrange and figuring out what worked for me and what didn't.

I don't shoot with a laser. They're useful, but again, don't let it be a substitute for fundamentals. When shooting down the sights, I'd keep it off. They're best for firing without good sight picture... at least I think.

The lazermax would only be for night time hd that's why I like the guide rod set up it's just there when you need it and for the most part you can't tell that it's there. I get what you saying about just getting some live fire time an there is no substitute for that. I'm not completely new to shooting its just the first handgun I have owned. I just the the ameriglo cap sights would help me to focus on the front sight mostly shooting shotguns its a little different as there is no rear sight to draw my focus. Does anyone know any tricks to help maintain focus on the front sight

Congrats! Glock 19 is my personal favorite and would be the only gun I owned if I could only have one. Be safe, have fun, shoot well!

Congratulations on your purchase. When I handled and shot the G19 for the 1st time, I was impressed. I actually shot it better than my G34.
