So I decided to get twins P228/P229

I originally bought a Sig Sauer P228 when turners had the trade-ins from Europe. It was in good shape mechanically, but filthy, the night sights were dead, and had some real bad holster ware. I had the slide and parts duracoated and sent the pistol back to Sig to have them do the works (SRT, polish, springs, fresh night sights, etc.) It shoots like a dream now. Well, I wanted another 9mm pistol so I traded with another Calgunner for a P229 (traded a P220)... and here are the results. The P229 also was sent back to sig and has the SRT and the works. I could not be happier.

Sweet. I like the 228 much more as I think it looks much cleaner without the rail and full rear serrations, but they're both great guns!

Yeah, the round trigger guard looks so sleek. You can feel the weight difference between the two. The P228 is lighter, but the P229 feels beefier. They are both awesome to shoot.

Yes very nice, although I prefer the latter. I like the railed look, but to each it's own.

How's the difference between the width of the slides? Is the 228 slide as wide as the lower portion of the 229 slide? Does is appear "fuller"? I had a classic p229 and really loved it. I wanted a 9mm rather than a .40, and I prefer the full serrations on the slide. So I sold the 229 for a 228, but got side tracked and have not found a 228 to buy. I may end up with a 226. I almost picked up a p6, but the trigger was super heavy. I don't know what the problem was there, but it wasn't as buttery smooth as the 229 was.

Here are some pics. The slide on the lower portion is substantially wider on the 229, but as you probably know, they are the same as they go up.
