Kydex Holsters With A Strap Option?

Are there any good kydex holsters which have an option for a thumbstrap like a traditional leather holster?

Moswt onf the ones I have seen don't have that strap...why?

Im looking for a Sig 226r holster in particular but wouldn't mind getting a holster mentioned above for other pistols I have.

G-Code might fit the bill. Releases with your thumb:

They usually don't have a strap because the kydex is supposed to hold your gun in.

If you can get an answer out of g-code as to whether their holster fits the 226r let me know. I've been trying to get an answer for months. I finally went with a Safariland. They also have a rotating hood (SLS I think).

But neither of those are actual thumb-snap holsters like the classic leather ones. I do recall seeing something like that but I can't recall the manufacturer at the moment. I'll look around and post back if I find anything.

        Hope this helps.

typical kydex is passive retention. some folks want more secured retention (thumb snap, hood like the safariland 6004, button lock like the serpas. etc) in case they go climb upside down, get tossed/jiggled hard, etc. sometimes "level 1" retention is not enough...

I can hang upside down with my crossbreed, ain't nothing coming out of there. But to each his own in regards to desired retention.

Some people need thumb straps because of dept. policy

i agree.. to each their own. some have to wear it for work and they may have regulations/policy about requiring more retention. i use regular kydex retention for my training and never had a gun or gear fall out of my kydex...
