I have a full size off brand 1911. It came with two 7 rd magazines. Are the 8 round mags the same size as the 7 round mags? Will the 8 rd magazines
work?
Thank you.....

Yes...and yes.
I use CMC 10 round Power mags in all my 1911's. I don't mind the small extension from the well."A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero -
Thank you good sir....Comment

I don't trust 8 round magazines that are the same size as 7 round magazines. In order to fit more rounds in the same sized package, the follower or spring is usually compromised. I'll use a 7 round mag if I want a flush fit. Otherwise I'll use an 8 round mag that's slightly longer to accomodate the extra round.Originally posted by G. Michael HopfComment
