any special reason why no Kel-Tec handguns on CA approved list?

Is the old Swede just stubborn or did CA ban Kel-Tec or what?

I'd think CA would be a big enough market for Kel-Tec cheap hand guns.

same reason why the sig 229 Enhanced Elite is legal in CA but the 226 Enhanced Elite isn't legal...I just don't understand CA gun laws at times...Yet they sell 30 round mags at gun shows and stores but you are not allowed to install them....

When CA passed the law that created the CA DOJ approved list for handgun sales, Kel-Tec chose to leave the CA market as a sign of protest aganist it.

And as soon as more and more Glock Gen4s invade the marketplace, expect a GLOCK DROUGHT here in Kalifornistan.

We are forced to pay a higher price (SSE) for these handguns now. Wait until Glock bumps Gen3 (approved) production down.

The GEN4 Glock will never make the approved list with the features demanded by the CDOJ. (Magazine disconnect and Loaded chamber indicator).

We have lost control of our State Government to people who never knew how to even shoot a gun.

Most of the people who made these rules weren't even elected. !

Because KelTec refused to be extorted by California?
A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it.

They are not allowed to sell them to you - as complete magazines - unless you are exempt (principally LEO).

I guess I feel better about my 3rd Gen Glock.

I was all like 'gee, I wish I'd waited' but not anymore.

Grip seems to fit perfect anyways, bought one after trying out my buddies and shot bull's-eye first shot off-handed.

Didn't like the feel of XD grip at all.

I wonder if some enterprising gun smith might be able to buy, modify(thus creating 'new gun') and submit to CA for approval certain can't get in CA hand guns, like Kel-Tec or Sig .223 or Rossi Ranchhand.

It's easier to just modify them into dimensionally complaint single-shot pistols, which then makes them exempt from the approved list.

                  Like what's currently going on.

I had contacted Kel-tec about this several years ago about this and they replied they just don't have any interest in getting their handguns approved for CA. I got the feeling they didn't think the hassle was worth it since they were selling so many guns in the other states they didn't want to waste manpower getting their handguns approved in CA.

To get approval on the Cal. DOJ approved list (not SAFE list) the manufacturer has to furnish three copies of each and every model to be listed and pay a fee of $200 per model. After listing they get one year and must pay the $200 again! Some manufacturers just do not care to play that game.
