Picked up my HK USP Compact 9mm!

Hey guys! After picking up my Arsenal SGL-21 a few days ago, today I went in and picked up my very first 9mm handgun. I chose to go with a HK USP Compact. After shooting it at the range I absolutely fell in love. The grip, the weight, the size, it's a beautiful weapon. Can't wait to get to the range this week and break in my two new babies.

Side Note: Do you guys recommend and "upgrades" to the pistol. I think it's perfect as is, but would love to hear suggestions.

I have the HK compact in .45 caliber and enjoy shooting it. The trigger was a little stiff until 200 rounds or so went down range and it smoothed out. Lube the sear/trigger group when starting out with it as it will be light in lube.

I assume your compact has the dual slide release. If it does try to keep an eye on the right side release lever during dis-assembly as it may drop out unexpectedly. Easy fix, but be aware of it. I stepped on mine to make this discovery!

HK weapons are some of the best in the world, so keep it.

Congratulations. The USP is one of the few guns that is perfect as it is. I've not felt the need to make mods to mine. I love the night sights and prefer that to a flashlight for my home.

I think I worded that wrong. It's actually not my FIRST handgun but my first 9mm one. Sorry for the confusion guys. I also own a Glock and Beretta both in 40 S&W. But thanks for all the compliments and confidence.

As far as accessories I ordered a Streamlight TLR-4 for it, and should be receiving it soon. Will update with pictures!

Do you mind saying, or pming, what you paid and where you got it? This exact gun is next on my list; I've been waiting for a small ship to come in to pick one up, but one local shop (Nor Cal) made it seem like these are back-ordered and hard to find.

Yeah, I've had a USPc 9mm stainless for several years---great pistol---the only mods I am thinking of are; install hammer with spur (my pistol is DA/SA and I prefer an exposed hammer), install the larger magazine release that's available from HK parts, I am thinking about installing a fiber-optic style front sight. No particular hurry on any of this as the pistol performs just fine as is, but just thinking about possible mods...
