The answer to the question "Why are Glocks safer" is so obvious I'm surprised no one has mentioned it.
First, they're called "Safe Action Pistols." So they must be safe or else they wouldn't be called that.
Second, Glocks tend to shoot their owners in the legs, rather than in more vital body parts. I mean, you never hear of "Glock Head," right? By limiting their owner-targeting to extremities, Glocks show admirable discretion and reserve. A less safe pistol might aim for the heart.
