tickets to the gun show!

hey y'all,

i've never been to a gun show. are they worth going to? i was wondering if they are good places to score deals on magazines and ammo.

ammo and magazines is the one of the main reasons i go to gun shows....i would suggest buying the ammo 1st and putting it in your car and drop it off and go back in...don't wait cause if you wait on the ammo it'll be gone as soon as you know it...

The ammo is mostly reloads so ya, the prices are good. If you don't mind shooting reloads then go for it.

They should have HK mags at the gun show...yes if you haven't been to a gun show it's definitley worth it...never been to the costa mesa one though...

Next one is this weekend in del mar. Usually $14 tic. Lots of ammo n mags. Factory fresh cheaper than Wal mart in most case.

Don't expect to see alot of high end firearms.

are you going to the del mar gunshow? its cool to check it out. but with parking fees and enterence fees it gets expencive. get some beef jerky and mags. last time i went alot of vendors were selling rebuild kits. ammo prices are good if you buy alot.

If you are just going "to go" and willing to buy whatever great deal you may run acroos, then gun shows can be good. If you think you will automatically save 50% on the exact make and model of the only gun you are looking for, stay home.

The internet has killed gun shows. I have been to a few in the last couple of years and they are a shell of what they were in the 80's & 90's. Virtually everything you can get at one you can get online for as good or better prices.

That said they are kinda fun to go to and spend an afternoon. Maybe meet some folks and indulge in your 'beef Jerky Fetish"

If you have never been than go and have fun. They are worth seeing if you have never been. Just dont expect to walk away with smoking deals .

I go to gun show for ammo. If you buy in bulk, it's worth it.

CA guns shows are really only good for ammo, and sometimes magazines and other accessories. Due to the 10 day wait, the only reason to buy a gun there is because you can't find it anywhere else. Keep in mind that the pick-up must be done at another gun show (more gas, another entrance fee, parking fee) or at the seller's place of business. So unless you really want to explore the state, your confined to dealers reasonably close to you, not necessarily the lowest priced one.
