should have posted/reflected, the status for milpitas was as of 745AM PT. Appeared to have to half a case of 7.62x39 ... additionally, per my understanding Milpitas had 9MM yesterday

Strict 1 box limit now in effect at Milpitas. Mt. View is still 3.

Mountain View had nine (a few cases); nothing in milpitas when I showed up this AM.

That one box only limit at Milpitas really is a downer.

I talked to an Asst. manager this morning. Really nice guy who was general sorry that management had started that policy. Apparently someone was butthurt and calling up to complain all of the time, so we're all stuck with 1 box.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Since I was able to get what needed thanks to this thread here's an update.

              MV has WWB 1 of 40, a few 9 value packs, 1 357.

A good dozen plus boxes of Remm Sluggers and 00buck for 12g and 20g, 15 round boxes. Good luck guys.

unless, of course, you go out to the car and change all your clothes and put on a fake mustache or something.

I think it's a good policy. Most of us here want to go shoot, not flip the ammo for higher prices. Just being able to buy a single box is good nowadays (until it "all blows over"). And you can get that box. Before, one guy would buy out most of the ammo in the cabinet.

In the previous '08 panic, I went to MW and the clerk told me 3 guys keep coming in and buying all the ammo. One guy was only the calibers he owned as he was a hoarder, but he'd buy ALL the boxes of those. One guy was a flipper and would buy EVERYTHING, then mark it up and sell it online or something, and the third guy actually worked for a local range and they'd mark it up and sell it at the range.

So a single guy could take ALL the ammo. The three box limit helped, but then it would take just 5 guys to eat up all the stock. One box IS GOOD.

                  It's rationing during the famine.

Yeah, I agree with the 1 Box policy. I've only been able to score ammo at WM once during the famine (3 boxes of WWB 100ct. in MV about 3 months ago), but I'd rather see more people have an opportunity to get something rather than just 2-3 people with the most time on their hands shutting everyone else out.

I'm usually working (or sleeping in preparation for a long day of work) during the hours that WM might roll ammo out, and it takes me about 40min round trip to get to my nearest WM that stocks ammo. In most cases it makes zero sense for me to waste that time & gas to get even three boxes, let alone one. But I do believe that the quicker ammo gets into the hands of people who are actually using it the faster market conditions will normalize. I've got nothing against flippers - I definitely support a free market; but I'm against people suffering due to out-of-whack market conditions so the sooner things get back to normal (whatever the new normal is) the better. I think the 1-box policy gets us back to normal quicker.

                      Mt View Walmart 1:00pm 6/27

                      MV Walmart today:

There were plenty of 9mm 100 round boxes at 7am, gone by 7:15. 3 box limit.

As of 1:00 pm there is still a lot of ammo. No 9mm, but lots of Tula 7.62, Tula .380, 100 round boxes of .357 JHP (pricey), and quite a bit of both 12 ga. and 20 ga. rifled slugs and 00 buck, Remington, in 2.75 and 3" shells, 15 round boxes. About 10 boxes of 00 buck in 5 round boxes, 12 ga, 2.75.

Hope this helps. It seems there are very few posts with actual current status in this thread...
