      The 180 degree rule applies, or should apply, any time the gun is out of the holster, movement or not.

        I recognize the confusion. At Esco all the targets are downrange in a parallel line. If I turn right or left, my muzzle is still facing down range. Not breaking the 180 the muzzle faces down range no matter if I reload or if I turn.
        The confusion is in the stage setup. For example Norco steel, the targets are set up on different lines and with obstacles, the 180 would be hard to police without berms. Norco of course has seperate berms.
