whos got some 9mm revolver input ??

Im looking into getting a revolver in 9mm, and I have a few questions / concerns. I have looked around and found there about half dozen makes out there. Im trying to avoid the Taurus 905, and instead go with a S&W or Ruger because of quality and reliability.

1. First off, which are ok for CA?

2. Which make allows me to shoot without moon clips?

I have done some looking around, but info online about these is not too plentiful. Any advice or help would be very appreciated!

So I guess there are NO 9mm revolvers CA legal then, is that right? I checked Taurus, S&W and Ruger and all 9mm's were "Pistols"

They are a neat idea but tend to be a little bit finicky.
I understand wanting to keep the number of calibers to a minimum but just give up 38 are cheap to shoot and cheaper still to reload.
I really wish the 9mm s&w 940 worked better but it doesn't.
With hot loads the brass will enlarge making extraction a real pain in the ***.
The full moon clips are hard to find and bend very easily. Midway carry's the moon clips but you are screwed if you need to find some at a local shop.

yeah, one thing I did notice was people complaining the more you shoot the harder shells were to extract. Would shooting steel cased ammo would expand less?

I am not sure what steel cases would do but i can tell you after firing 5 rounds of +p+ I had to use a rubber mallet to tap the cases out.

I was in your same position, I already have a couple of 9mm semi-autos and wanted to keep to one caliber. Moon clips seem like a PITA, you are putting a square peg in a round hole so to speak. Who needs the headaches? My recommendation would be a Ruger GP 100 with the 4 or 6" barrel. You can practice your brains out with .38 and keep the .357 for then you want to have some big booms.

Either that or forget about a 9mm revolver and buy my newest infatuation, the CZ75 SP-01, what a sweet, sweet gun. Oh, yeah, and it's on the the roster.
