The P-01 alloy is also super easy to clean, the gunk just falls right off when you're cleaning it. Of my CZs I think it's my fave pistol, I like shooting it the most.

Stay away from the decock models unless you really must have it.

bingo - if you must have it, which I must. It's a Chevy vs. Ford argument, some like it and some don't. I say don't diss the decocker (or praise it) based on what other people say, just go find one and play with it for yourself to see if it's the right thing for you. (err that comment towards whoever asked the original question)

This is a 9mm 75b SA. I purchased it through Bud's Gun Shop online.

The pistol is far more accurate than most other 9mm "service" pistols. It has been completely reliable as well

Noob question alert!!

So mostly all i have are glocks and have never used a decocker. Why do some CZ's have and some dont? Is it leftly friendly? What is the function?

The original 75 has safeties. This allows the pistol to be carried with a round in the chamber, hammer cocked and safety on. This is similar to the way a 1911-style pistol can be carried. Simply release the safety, and you have a short, light trigger pull to fire the gun.

Decockers allow you to lower the hammer safely on a loaded chamber. So, load your weapon and apply the decocker. The hammer lowers. To fire the pistol, you must fire double action for the first shot. This pull is harder and longer than the single action pull. Essentially, the pull to fire the pistol must be more deliberate, and less prone to being inadvertantly pulled under stress.

Carrying a pistol cocked and locked is perfectly safe. The decocker is not so much a means to make the pistol safer during carrying, but less prone to accidental discharges under stress.

I personally am not fond of decockers. It is generally more difficult to get a nice trigger on a decocker-equipped pistol. However, some gunsmiths like Matt Mink or Angus Hobdell (both CZ USA shooters) can set a decocker-version CZ up for you to have a DA trigger pull around 7.5#, and a SA trigger pull less than 3#. Nice.

CZ pistols are excellent. They've been around for a long time, but are just now gaining in popularity. They feel the best of any double-stack pistol. Ergonomics are great. My SA literally feels like an extension of my hand. Seriously. Oh, and CZs are usually exceptionally accurate from the factory. My SP-01 came from the factory with a test target showing 5 shots at 25 yard in a 1 3/8" group- better han many guns costing substantially more.

Yes the Sp01 tactical comes with night sights standard. Can be had with the safety or decocker according to taste. I got the decocker version as my sig 226 has one and thats what I'm used to.

If you're in so cal, ade's gun shop has a cz 75b sa on consignment. This was about 3 weeks ago, but i remember seeing it there numerous times.

If you're in Norcal then Krausewerks in San Mateo carries most of the CA approved models (not the 75B SA tho, a little too specialized) like the 75B/BD, P-01, 75Compact (in .40 too), 97B, SP-01 and so forth. Most models were $20-$50 below MSRP last time I was in there (which was a month or two ago). I've been in when the "CZ shelf" was almost empty and when it was full with many boxes, call first to make sure they have what you want in stock.

I've been shooting a 75b in 40sw for a few months now and really like it. Like every one has mentioned very accurate, reliable, and pleasant to shoot. I picked the 75b as I wanted the SA/DA trigger, and didn't want the rail. But if someone were in the market for one as a fun gun or one they may race I'd strongly suggest holding the SP-01 or SA as well as the 75 or 85. I have medium hands with a fairly pronounced muscle between my thumb and the rest of my hand from working with them. If I take a high grip (like I would on my 1911) the beavertail digs slightly into the top of my hand. I've come to find out the newer frames have an upswept tail like the 1911 that is more comfortable for that high hand hold. In hind sight I think I would have taken the SP-01 and learned to live with the rail.

I have the 75b in 9mm because it's the more traditional caliber, but I sort of wish that I'd gotten it in 40 cal, because that's my favorite round. It has worked flawlessly and is most definately my favorite 9mm pistol.

I went through that same debate... on the one hand, .40 is supposed to be better... but 9mm is what the CZ75 was designed for... and sometimes you do hear people having extractor problems and such with the 40...

Get the 9mm instead of the .40 unless you really just need to have a .40

I have three 75B's that I use for USPSA and steel matches, two 9's and one .40
The .40 gives up too much in capacity (12-15 vs 15-20), and they have a more problems. My .40 had to be sent back to get work by Mike Eagleshield so it would finally work right. The other two 9's have over 100K rounds (combined) through them and run absolutely great.

Change their sights and give them a triggerjob, you have a great shooting pistol for a reasonable price. The SA-only is the preferred one IMHO, better: beavertail, low rise ambi safety, trigger shape, triggerjob capabilities, and slide profile. Even if must retain DA for the first shot, I would get a 75-SA and put a DA trigger, hammer and that other piece.

If you need lots of aftermarket accessories, you may be disappointed.

I love my 75B 9mm. It took roughly 500 rounds to really smooth the trigger out but it shoots great now. Very reliable, very pleasant to shoot and very accurate.

One day I'll have trigger work done on it - just to lighten the DA, but for the money I don't think you can beat it.
