Pistol setup flash light extended barrel

So i'm a little pissed off right now. I had my plans all setup for my poser threaded barrel and flashlight on the G17...

come to find out that evidently a threaded barrel is a no no b/c threads are evil.

I was going to setup my firearm like this.

to reduce the blast on the light and like I said i'm a poser and i think the threaded barrel looks cool.

going to have to rethink this... any advice?

    yeah i guess...

I was looking at lone wolf and didn't immediately see a 5" or so barrel for the 17. I'll have to look a little more.

it just pisses me off that threads are evil... it's just so stupid.

If you really want the look, you could permanantly attach the thread protector to your barrel. I believe you would no longer be able to remove the barrel from the slide for easy cleaning.

I wouldn't either. Check this one out.
Lone Wolf Arms is the largest manufacturer of aftermarket parts for Glocks. We also have M&P Shield, Beretta/Taurus, and Browning Hi-Power parts.

Believe it sticks out 1" from stock 17.

If your willing you can always get a threaded barrel but grind the threads away so you still have the extension, just not the "evil" threads.

                Can't you just get a G34 barrel?

                    damnit!!

as a previous poster mentioned i might try to grind the threads off and work out a way to get the protector.... gah i can't do it. A thread protector to protect non-existent threads...

I want a 5 in. barrel b/c it just doesn't extend too far. IMO 6" is just too long for the gun.
