    Flying MC Operator front sight!

So I had just gotten this gun and was stoked to take it to the range today.

First 50 or so rounds go great and I'm loving the gun. I take another shot and see something fly by my head.

I thought it might've been a piece of brass ricocheting off the wall and line up for another shot when I see rear sights but no front. I look closer and the front sight is completely gone.

Eventually, I find it on the ground right behind me and it looks like the roll pin that holds it in place has disappeared.

I slipped it back into it's dovetail channel and the sight pretty much slides right through. No friction or anything to hold it in place. The only thing holding it was the roll pin.

Anyway, I'm super bummed that I won't "get to know" my new toy and i'll have to send this into Springfield to get it fixed .

500+ rounds in my MC operator without any issue. You should send a email to Springfield, heard nothing but great things about their customer service.

Had the same thing happen on my CZ SP01. Luckily I found the front sight. CZ sent me a couple roll pins and I inserted it myself.

The Op is a beautiful gun. Good choice.

Same with my loaded, they send me two pins and I fixed it my self, a dab oh blue loctite and it will hold forever.
              The stuff that goes boom.

Happened to me with my Operator, but I lost the sight in the mojave. SA replaced it for free.

Nope, no roll pins, good old fashioned dove tail friction fit.

I think you need to get rid of that 1911. I will buy it from you for $700
