    2" revolver

im looking at a taurus 2'' barrel revolver .38spl. i want to know if the recoil would be much different between the regular and light version of the same revolver. the differance is 5 oz. what do you think?

Well, everything helps with a gun that small, but realistically, either isn't too bad. I have a Ruger LCR and I've tried several different bullet weights and loads with no problems with recoil. If you are more recoil sensative, get the heavier model, if you are more concerned about overall weight, then get the lighter one. Hope this helps.

On the taurus's it also depends on the grips. They have a full size and a 2 or 3 finger size for me the smaller grip is not right.

A 2" revolver with a lightweight frame will be pretty stout with recoil. With +p loads, even a bit harsher. I have a S&W 442-2, so I know first hand. A larger revolver is definitely more pleasant to shoot.

          weight is everything.....

          A all steel .38 to a airweight .38.....

I have both, and there is quite a difference. The larger grips that Pezhead mentioned do help a lot with the lighter gun.

I highly recommend a good smith unless your set on the Taurus. And I would think you'd be better off with the heavier gun unless this is a CCW weapon.
