    sp101 lock up?

My Smith and Wesson has rock solid lock up when the hammer is back. Just picked up my sp101, didn't have time to go to the range yet and just brought it home to give it a thorough cleaning when I noticed the lock up allows a miniscule bit of wiggle. I assume, being brand new this is normal?

    Thanks for any advice/info.

I have 2 sp101's and they are all a bit loose compared to my smith's.

Thank you for the reply. I figured it was probably normal.

Its normal as long as its side to side rather than back and forth.

          Exactly.

This is more for used revolvers but plenty of good info here:

I just bought a new SP101 also. Mine has some play side to side, and a bit of front to back as well. Two of the cylinders are like a bank vault.

                Is it the .22LR?

Mine is also .357 2.25". One chamber is rock solid but the others have a tiny bit of play. No forward to back play at all though. I'll keep an eye on it when in take it out the first time, for any shavings around the forcing cone.

I'm actually pleased that the fit and finish is better than I had expected reading online reviews but this is only my second revolver and the S&W I'm comparing it to is a work of art.

Both the S&W and Ruger actions are designed to have a bit of play in the cylinder on lockup
