    G21SF vs G30SF recoil/accuracy

A few weeks ago I was trying to decide which one to buy between these two. I initially chose to get the 30SF since it would be easier to ccw. But then I figured that the full sized gun would offer more accuracy and less recoil compared to the compact version (from my experience with 1911's). Hence I picked up the 21SF. When I took it to the range for the first time, the guy in the lane next to me had a 30SF so we took turns shooting each other's gun. I was surprised that I shot his 30SF better than my 21SF. My groups were much tighter past 10 yards and I swear the recoil of the smaller gun was in fact LESS than its big brother.

Am I smoking crack or has anyone else experienced the same thing??? Now I'm having a bit of buyer's remorse since I should have went with my initial decision. I don't want to sell my 21SF so it looks like I'll be picking up a 30SF once the 30-day wait is up. It's a shame too since I already picked up a MTAC for the 21SF, which I'll never carry once I get the 30SF.

Sometimes I shoot the more compact guns better, its weird but no it happens. Sometimes they just feel better, but 80 percent of the time a fullsize is more accurate for me. The 30sf is actually a good size. I dont care for the G19/G23/G32, but the G30 seems very size efficient for what it is and handles the .45 very well. I'd lean towards it, but prefer more rounds if I'm going with a poly .45.

Massad Ayoob tends to think the glock 30 is the most accurate glock out there. I find the recoil is very minimal compared to my glock 31 in .357 sig. 10 rounds is the limit here in california and thats what the standard mags come as. I myself love the glock 30 because its a small, but not too small pistol shooting a big bore round, and its accurate.

+1 pretty much how I feel. The accuracy I wouldn't know or disagree with, I never had issues with Glocks.

Even Glock themselves say its more accurate, According the latest Annual issue of Glock auto-pistols magazine. I think the dual recoil spring helps quite a bit.

I've seen I think, what your talking about.

It all depends on the round and 45 does well, I know it drops off sooner than a 9mm if you were plinking far away, but either way I'm sure its as accurate if not more so than there other offerings.

              30 all the way; softest shooter in .45acp . . .

                I agree as well.

                Couple of factors I think:
Main reason is the dual recoil spring in the G30.
Shorter barrel (not even that much) so a little less umph coming out.
Shorter slide as well, so less mass getting thrown back.

The Gen4's adds a dual recoil set-up on the G21's.

My 30SF was outstanding. Just got sick of the pearce grip extension pinching the s**t out of my finger. The grip felt too odd with the factory base plate for me, but overall the gun was great. Very soft shooting and very accurate. I already miss that gun.

Thanks for all the replies. I wasn't aware that Glock touted the 30 as more accurate. Pretty soon I'll have both, but it feels redundant to have the 21SF since it doesn't do anything that the 30SF can't do.

More ammo, longer sight radius, that said only one really applies to us in this state. Nothing wrong with the G30.
