    Glock rtf2

    Anyone seem them around norcal?

I've been really wanting another G17 and/or a G22 in rrf2. I'd prefer the slide(I've seem some that are rtf2 with a normal frame and vice versa). Can they be sse'ed? Or they that hard to find?

I was at River City Gun Exchange the other day at they had a RTF G17 on the shelf and I think a RTF 22. As for the RTF style look with a standard slide, are you sure that wasn't a gen4?

RTF2 Glocks have been discontinued for civilian sales. (still available as an option for LE/Gov agency orders)
Hence the reason why they are hard to find.

The first several runs of the RTF2 Glocks had the "fish gill" slide serrations. All runs after that had the normal slide serrations.

Awhile back, Ammo Bros in Ontario had one Glock 22RTF2 (with "gills") in stock.

Yea I remember checking 3-4 places and more than one clerk said they ocassionaly got rtf2's that had a normal slide ans/or frame on occasion.

If there like the gen 4's in that they are only sold to leos, couldn't I get one by just sse? I mean assuming I can't find a ppt or something better?

I wouldn't mind just a rtf2 frame with normal slide. It's a win either way. I held one a long time ago and remebered liking it, although some said it was rough after alot rounds.

I suppose I could go gen 4 if I get the g22, it sounds like only the 9mm's were having the issues.

I'll check right now, if there out by the time I get there can it still be SSE'd? I mean if figure that makes sense if its not on roster or just hard to get.

Don't have to SSE the RTF2.
Also, I don't know what you mean by "normal" frame.

The RTF2 won't have a "normal" frame. The sharp grip on the RTF2 is what makes it an RTF2. Did you mean a "normal" slide, with the vertical rear slide serrations? Either way, both the 17 RTF2 and 22 RTF2 are on the roster, so SSE is not in play.

The "L.E. sales only" bit was a marketing decision by Glock, not a State law or anything. Similar to all the "L.E. only" marked ammo and mags out there that are perfectly legal to own. Further, a new in box RTF2 is not readily available for individual L.E. sales, at least in CA. More likely still available if an agency wanted to order a quantity.

I had seen a few RTF2 fish gill slides on frames that weren't RTF2 and some RTF2 frames that had normal slides. It was rare but I saw them occasionally. A few clerks said basically that only some many actually have the fish gill serrations.

And yea I know its on the roster I just meant if I cant find one in a store and there unable to get any from Glock unless it was a LEO sale, I figured a place like Milipitas or a SSE place could get one as a SSE. But yea if I can still get one ordered if there out, even better . I just like the RTF a tad more.

And I'm probably dropping by SBR, assuming its in SAC.

I went to the biggest blue label Glock store in N. CA and they could not get one new in box.

Too bad you're not in So Cal, Turner's had 20 of them on sale last month for $ 499.00. Maybe you can contact them and see if there are any left that you can try to get a hold of.
