    What does "heeling" mean?

a majority of my shots are always high and to the right of point of aim. According to this picture, i'm "heeling" what does that mean?

EDIT: (Apparently this chart is for one handed style shooting) WOOPS

My understanding of the definition of heeling is when you tighten your grip as you break the shot. The sudden increase in pressure on the heel of you hand/bottom of grip frame tends to cause your shots to go high.

it says anticipating recoil...for instance if you have a Double Action Single Action trigger try using the Double Action 1st and see if you flinch...Or sometimes you can tell someone to load up ammo for you and put some snap caps inside to mix it up and try firing it and see if you flinch with the snap cap...i tried this on the H&K USP and in Double Action i did flinch cause im so use to firing a single action trigger...

That's not good, I think this might be the problem since I have a habit of gripping the frame tight as I shoot

can't be, I usually lean forward when I shoot

This might be also the problem, though now I rarely see myself flinch. maybe I should start recording myself when I shoot?

you know i thought i didn't flinch either until i tried the USP .40 in DA....And my brother was laughing because it was his gun and i flinch cause i was expecting a bang but didn't get a bang lol...try using the snap cap method..mix it up a bit and tell someone to do it for you so you don't know if it's a real bullet or a snap cap...this method works...

Do you shoot high when you flinch? When I flinch, I only shoot low.

I am under the impression that the wheel you posted above, is designed for one-handed shooting?

This chart is one of the lamest things to be posted about how to improve your shooting..

                      Yes.. I said it.. LAME

Why I feel this way is that it's far too broad and offers a kaleidescope of possible issues into what may be effecting your accuracy without really going into any detail on how to fix it.. What I really dislike is how everyone will post it and offer NO idea on how it applies to practical shooting...

Ok so you 'flinch', how do you get rid of that?
Ok so you 'heel', how do you get rid of that?
Ok so you "use too much trigger", how do you get rid of that?

Stop flinching? Stop heeling? If it were that simple, then everyone would be a bullseye shooter..

The chart actually does very little to help you improve. It says you're 'off' but gives you no insight on how to improve your shooting. Oh, did I mention that it only applies to 1 handed style shooting? It's almost an automatic face palm, as so many people post it up without having any idea how to make it useful...

Checkout youtube and go from there... You can get a solid understanding of how to properly execute a trigger press from some of the best shooters on the planet..

Dammit! Too bad they don't offer any advice on improvement in case I ever need to engage someone in a dual!

I mean last thing I'd want is to heel too much and shoot high right!

Glad to give you suggestions but you wouldn't want it from the guy with a 5-inch grouping at 7 yards

Don't sweat it -- you're probably in the top 80% of shooters here!
