I'm lost, why not just buy it back for a little less then you sold it to him for? and $300 is a bit high but right around where it should be, i'd like to see $275 but it is family...

If it in good condition $300 for a very durable all metal, USA made .40S&W pistol is not a bad deal. I don't think Ruger makes them anymore but they will still do warranty work on it. Maybe $275 cash but I wouldn't lo-ball family over this amount of money. Buy it and enjoy it! Good luck.
