    New Resident \ Roster Question

    Hey guys,

Buddy of mine is moving into the state, and has a Gen 4 Glock 17 he's not fond of. I explained to him that they go for a premium (off-roster) in CA, and that he might want to wait to sell it until he arrives, as it will be worth more.

Is he able to sell the handgun (PPT at CA FFL of course) during his first 60 day "grace period" with the DOJ before he's forced to register it by law? Or does he need to wait until he's registered it with DOJ for it to be able to be sold in CA?

    Thanks in advance.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

... but we've been hearing anecdotes about California ID/DL not being available inside the 60 days, and the PPT won't go through until the seller has CA ID of some kind.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

He has a valid CA Drivers License. He moved to Colorado for ~1 year and is returning. Pistol was purchased in CO legally with a CO driver's license.

We'd rather play this safe than sorry, so if you think (on any level) that it will result in any flak, we'll just register it.

No need to register...just PPT it within the 60 days.
